Why UFOs are Obsessed with Nukes?

Artwork by www.theufochronicles.com for the article, Nuclear Bomb Tests and UFOs - UAP at Maralinga, South Australia

"... many close encounters by US military personnel were nuclear-related. They happened near nuclear bases, test sites or atomic-powered aircraft carriers and submarines."

One under investigation is an apparent UFO crash at the White Sands Military Range in New Mexico in 1945 where a month earlier the US had tested the world’s first atomic bomb.

Witnesses - including a B-52 bomber pilot, traffic cop and US Marine - claimed to have seen the wreckage of a large egg-shaped object’ manned by thin, 4ft-tall creatures with big bulgy eyes’ who looked like praying mantises.

Farmington UFO Armada – 70th Anniversary

FARMINGTON — Farmington has reached the 70th anniversary of one of the more sensational events in its history this week, but it's a safe bet to say few residents will pay much attention to that milestone – or even be aware of it.

From March 16 to March 18 in 1950, the city experienced a mass UFO sighting, with some reports indicating "hundreds" of residents saw strange objects in the sky in broad daylight over the three-day period.

'Aztec UFO Incident' Confidant Passes Away

As a closing not to 2019, the Aztec UFO researchers have been informed that Mark Fargen, formerly of Cedar Hill, New Mexico, passed away October 12, 2019.

Mark had been a ranch hand for the Benson Leeper family for many years. Mark brought Scott Ramsey, Suzanne Ramsey, and

Frank Thayer, the story of how Ruby Leeper, the wife of Benson Leeper, revealed to Mark verification of the flying saucer crash March 25, 1948. She claimed that her husband was one of three people from Aztec, New Mexico, who rushed to a crashed or downed object in the early morning hours of that spring day. A car arrived at the Leeper ranch and picked up Benson so the rancher could lead them to the mesa where the intact disc had landed or crashed.

When Benson returned home later that day, his wife asked him what had happened. In a way out of character for him, he became angry and told his wife of many years to never ask him about where he had been. It was only in her later years she would confide to Mark the weighty secret her husband finally admitted to her.

Mark was so close to the family that he is buried in the Leeper family plot at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Fargen’s passing was the second loss to the Aztec story, as William "Bill" Steinman, author of the 1986 book _Flying Saucer Crash at Aztec: A Well-kept Secret,_ died early in 2019.

Both of these men will be missed by many.

Forget Roswell: Aztec Has One of the Most Intriguing UFO Mysteries

The site of the 1948 UFO crash sits just north of Aztec, New Mexico, and it’s not an easy place to find. It’s hidden inside a barren desert landscape and surrounded by rugged dirt roads, eerie rock formations, and arid shrub life along County Road 2770.

The Aztec UFO incident is a tale we hadn’t heard until a couple of months ago. In March 1948, as the story goes, a 100-foot saucer is believed to have crashed just north of Aztec. Unlike the Roswell crash, which took place only eight months prior, the Aztec UFO is believed to have landed on Earth mostly intact, with its occupants killed by the impact. The government is believed to have then descended upon the site to sweep up its contents and place them in a black hole of red-taped secrecy.

school, two miles south of town. They reported it to Frank Crandall, chief clerk at the school, who immediately focused a large glass on the object. When first seen, the object had the appearance of a large star, but so rapidly did it approach the earth that by night it looked like a large white electric globe, and was surrounded by a wide circle of light.

The strange object was visible in this city from the capitol and federal buildings, the two largest structures in the place. Many people watched the ball of fire from 6 o'clock until after 9 o'clock, when it was hidden behind clouds. This morning it was not visible.

AURA Statement: 'Criminal Activity' Forced Closure of Sunspot Solar Observatory at Sacramento Peak, New Mexico

Sunspot Solar Observatory is transitioning
back to regular operations as of September 17th

On September 6th, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) made the decision to temporarily vacate the Sunspot Solar Observatory at Sacramento Peak, New Mexico as

a precautionary measure while addressing a security issue. The facility closed down in an orderly fashion and is now re-opening. The residents that vacated their homes will be returning to the site, and all employees will return to work this week.

AURA has been cooperating with an on-going law enforcement investigation of criminal activity that occurred at Sacramento Peak. During this time, we became concerned that a suspect in the investigation potentially posed a threat to the safety of local staff and residents. For this reason, AURA temporarily vacated the facility and ceased science activities at this location.

The decision to vacate was based on the logistical challenges associated with protecting personnel at such a remote location, and the need for expeditious response to the potential threat. AURA determined that moving the small number of on-site staff and residents off the mountain was the most prudent and effective action to ensure their safety.

In light of recent developments in the investigation, we have determined there is no risk to staff, and Sunspot Solar Observatory is transitioning back to regular operations as of September 17th. Given the significant amount of publicity the temporary closure has generated, and the consequent expectation of an unusual number of visitors to the site, we are temporarily engaging a security service while the facility returns to a normal working environment.

We recognize that the lack of communications while the facility was vacated was concerning and frustrating for some. However, our desire to provide additional information had to be balanced against the risk that, if spread at the time, the news would alert the suspect and impede the law enforcement investigation. That was a risk we could not take.

solar observatory have been hot news. On Sept. 6, the Sunspot facility on Sacramento Peak in the southern part of the state was strung with yellow tape, and employees were sent home. This set off alarm bells across the Internet: Had astronomers found a lethal solar flare, or even signs of alien life? And was there a government cover-up?

After days of rampant speculation, authorities finally fessed up and explained the situation as a “security issue.” They offered scant details but indicated that there had been a threat to people on the peak and that secrecy was necessary.

They also told the clerk in the Sunsport Post Office to evacuate.

Seventy Years After Government Report of Aliens, Roswell Draws UFO Faithful

ROSWELL — One hot day in early July 1947, rancher William “Mac” Brazel told Lincoln County Sheriff George Wilcox that he had found strange debris from some sort of aircraft crash at a remote site out in the desert, about 40 miles from Corona, N.M.

The sheriff called military officials at the Roswell Army Air Field, and Maj. Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer, went out to investigate.

Within a day, the U.S. Army Air Force sent out a news release announcing it had found the remnants of a flying saucer. The Roswell Daily Record’s headline July 8, 1947, said it all: “RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region.” The nation, swept up by a series of reports on unexplained discs in the skies, was transfixed by the possibility of visitors from outer space.

As Roswell began commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crash and celebrating the museum’s 25th year, about 15,000 visitors converged on the town late last week and throughout the weekend for the 22nd annual UFO Festival.
